The Calhoun County Public Works Department is responsible for a number of areas including road maintenance, landfill operations, collection site operations, and the county's recylcling efforts. Residents of Calhoun County are allowed to bring up to four (4) tires per year to the landfill. This is in addition to the four (4) tons of C&D Type garbage that can be brought to the landfill per year for free.
As of July 1, 2011 all tires and electronics must be disposed of at the Landfill. These items will not be accepted at the collection sites after June 30, 2011.
